exalted Messiah. “Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, and has poured out what you now see and hear” (v. 33, NIV). Implied in Peter’s words is the idea that the resurrection of Jesus was not a mere resuscitation, like that of Lazarus, the daughter of Jairus, or the son of the widow of Nain. He who was nailed to the cross now sits on the throne of the universe, alive forevermore. The words of Psalm 110:1 are quoted as finding their fulfillment
